No reliable sources. Author's only other contribution was a fairly blatant hoax, so this is probably one as well. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 12:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy Delete per WP:SPEEDY#G3. -- JediLofty UserTalk 12:28, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]- Keep, following the unearthing of new sources! -- JediLofty UserTalk 08:25, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. Not sure if G3 applies, but certainly the content is not verifiable. siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 12:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]- Keep The russian language reference does indeed speak of an "academik" of that name, and he did appear notable as a member of the central committee. Hold on for the reference to be checked. Name of title needs to be changed to include "Emmanuel". docboat (talk) 13:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep This entry exists in ru.wiki. The proper name would be Nikolai Markovich Emanuel (name patronymic surname). Unfortunately my Russian is not good enough to follow to the pages of science institutions for final verification. Russian speaking coworker did short research, this name appears in online version of some science encyclopedia. Seems valid. Updated references in main article, looks like he received some state award or other for his work. -- Muczachan (talk) 15:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Should be moved to Nikolai Markovich Emanuel for the start (is my WP:RUS OK?). Here are a couple of English-language sources: [1] Fairly thorough obituary. I'll add the references to the article. 147.91.1.41 (talk) 13:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Keep — The references are legit, and although I can't read very much Russian, the first reference does state that he did some pretty big stuff in chemistry. The second reference is in English, and plainly states his notability. Leonard^Bloom (talk) 17:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
